It was about entrusting our own communities—their lived experience, wisdom, and resilience—to lead every step of the HIV-prevention journey. - [Targeted Intervention in Noida – Deepening HIV Prevention](https://baserasamajiksansthan.org/targeted-intervention-in-noida-deepening-hiv-prevention/): The ongoing fight to minimize HIV transmission among high-risk groups Since May 2022, Basera’s Targeted Intervention (TI) project with UPSACS has zeroed in on the 700 highest-risk individuals in Gautam Budh Nagar: 500 FSWs and 200 MSMs. We began by mapping both core groups (FSWs, MSMs) and bridge groups (truckers, migrants, street children), identifying service gaps and hotspots. We knew treatment alone wasn’t enough—PLHIV need mental-health support, entitlement navigation, and a community that holds them up. From our Noida anchor, Basera’s counsellors and peer navigators conducted home visits, offering adherence coaching, psychosocial counselling, and assistance in securing nutrition and social-protection schemes.
