Summary
Pehchan was a landmark initiative aimed at empowering MSM, transgender persons, and sex workers through community-led HIV prevention and care. Basera implemented Pehchan in Uttar Pradesh, mobilizing peer educators, expanding access to health services, and strengthening grassroots networks. The project built sustainable systems for outreach, counselling, and rights-based advocacy, laying the foundation for long-term community resilience.
