Garima Greh is a shelter home for transgender persons, run by Basera in Sector 22, Noida. It is for people who have nowhere safe to go, whether because of violence at home, losing a place to live, or being pushed out by family.
Residents can stay for up to one year. During that time they get a safe room, meals, counselling and someone to talk to. Our team also helps them get their Aadhaar, TG card, bank account and other documents, and links them to health services when needed.
We want the stay to lead somewhere. So inside the shelter, residents can learn beauty parlour work, stitching, basic computers and cooking, and get support to start their own small work. Two of our trainers are themselves from the community.
Garima Greh gives residential stay to transgender persons aged 18 and above. To ask about a place, please contact our office at 0120-4965670 or write to info@baserasamajiksansthan.org.
