Legal Aid & Rights
Many community members face problems that need the law on their side – getting an identity card, facing discrimination, or not knowing where to complain. We help people understand their rights and use them, and we work with police, lawyers and courts so that the system treats people with respect.
- Legal aid and awareness sessions with District Legal Services Authorities and advocates
- Simple information on the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 and the HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017
- Help with the transgender identity card process – in 2025–26, 68 of 81 applications were approved
- Referral for free legal aid and help with complaints
- Sensitisation sessions with police, lawyers and court staff
